P4P Linen Pants Release

So I have this problem. I make most of my own clothes, but I've been too intimidated to start making my own pants, other than leggings or jeggings. It's something I knew I needed to just dive right into or I'd keep talking myself out of it, so I jumped at the chance to test the new Patterns for Pirates Linen Loungers.

I talked in my last post about how I generally prefer more fitted garments and tend to stay away from garments with more ease, so I was a little nervous about the amount of ease in these pants. I don't know why I always get so nervous, because Judy and team work hard to provide well-fitting patterns and I always find that I love them in the end.

Anyway, more info about these awesome pants and less about me! They're available in sizes XXS-Plus3X, with tons of lengths and options - cuffed shorts, curved hem shorts, Bermuda length shorts, capris, AND pants length, with two different front pocket options, a faux fly option, button tab option, plus either a yoga waistband or a woven waistband with hidden elastic. You can always count on P4P to cover all the options, with extra hacks, too!

For the women's pattern, I tested the XS size, cuffed shorts option with a faux fly, elastic waistband, faux drawstring, and patch front pockets. They were made from a linen I picked up at Joann Fabrics. I ended up loving the result and wore them for 3 days before my husband told me I really needed to change clothes! ha.

I also tested the youth Linen Loungers for both my daughter and my son. She wears a 4/5 blend and he wears the 6m/9m blend. The youth version has the same options as the women's version, which I love! I made my daughter a pants length version (paired with the Ava from Made for Mermaids) with a yoga band in the same linen that I used for my shorts, and made my baby boy a bermuda length version in a lightweight twill from Hobby Lobby.

We had to work super hard to get this one and only family shot. Baby was so tired and Sister just wanted to play in the dirt. Real life lol!

I was truly shocked at how much I ended up liking the ease in these shorts, and I'm pretty proud of myself with how well they turned out! Are you afraid about sewing your own shorts like I was? These are a GREAT place to start! Both the Linen Loungers and Little Loungers are on sale through Sunday 7/23 at midnight CST, no code necessary, or you can also grab the bundle on sale here!
