Made for Mermaids Celebrates 30k Members!

So almost a year ago exactly, I was reeling from a shocking death in my family and needed a distraction. I had been loving Made for Mermaids patterns, and they were having a contest. This contest was to become part of their testing team. I thought, why not, it will be fun, and a good distraction! So I worked hard and entered, and I was selected as a winner. What?!?! I honestly couldn't believe it. Let me tell you, the year since I became a tester has brought insane amounts of growth in both my sewing and photography knowledge and abilities. More importantly though, I've grown to be able to call the lovely Made for Mermaids team my friends!

But back to the point of this entire post. Last week, the Made for Mermaids Facebook group reached 30,000 members! It is so exciting to watch this group grow, and I can only imagine how it must feel for the M4M team! Between coming up on my one year of testing, and this milestone, I'm feeling pretty nostalgic, so I thought I would share some of my favorite Made for Mermaids makes to date.

I'll start with the Samantha Skirt. It was my first M4M pattern, and one I go back to frequently. I've paired it in these pictures with the Charlotte Collar Top, another quick staple pattern.

I couldn't write this post without mentioning the very first pattern I tested, Quinn. I made this one in a lightweight chambray, and between the ruffle bottom and eyelet trim, I'm obsessed. I usually give away all of my girls' clothes after they grow out of them since I'm always making new ones, but I just couldn't bear to part with this one. There is something so classic and beautiful about it.

Next is the classic Brooklyn/Riley mash. These patterns were designed to mash perfectly with one another, and recently M4M added a third pattern, Cassie, to this line-up that also mashes perfectly!

One of my favorite classic sews are the Stacey Top and Skipper Skirt. You can't see it, but the Skipper Skirt pattern comes with a leggings option, including shorties length, so your littles can look girly and still be modest 😉 These are both part of the Best Friends Collection, that also includes the Hailey Ruffle Pants, Rose Ruffle Top, and the oh-so-cute Barbie Headband! I've included a picture of that one, too because I love it so much. I modified it slightly by using stretch lace instead of knit for the band, but the flowers are all part of the pattern!

Then came the Dreamy Collection Part 2, which featured so many gorgeous patterns, including my daughter's current favorite pattern, Joy. She would seriously wear her Joy Dresses every single day if I let her. I think it must be the pleats.

The beginning of 2017 brought some of my favorite M4M patterns to date. You can always count on M4M to be right on top of the latest trends, and Cassie is no exception. Everywhere I go, my girls are getting compliments on their cold shoulder tops. I love seeing the looks on people's faces when I tell them I made them.

I mostly sew with knits these days, but when Megan T. released Sutton, I knew it was something special. It never disappoints, and I'm pretty sure it was the most-used pattern for Easter in the M4M group this year! That twirl factor is just on point!

I'm going to round this post out where I started with M4M, with a Mama pattern, Mama Isabel. I could gush on and on and on about this pattern. I've made it in almost all the different hem lengths (there are 5!) and all the different sleeve lengths (it even includes sleeveless - win!!). Here I'm wearing it in a lightweight sweater knit from Sincerely Rylee Fabric Shop in mini length. I've worn it dressed up with heels and dressed down with Converse, and I love it equally.

Mostly I want to gush about the Mama Isabel/Mama Cassie mash. These dresses were designed to mash perfectly together, and there just is not a more flattering dress than this. I mean really, I'm 5 weeks postpartum in this picture. This dress is EVERYTHING. Everything. Do I need to say it again? Really. It is my favorite dress to date.

Thanks for sticking around through the end. I could go on and on and on, because I truly love all M4M patterns, but I'll stop here ;) Don't forget to grab your patterns while they're still on sale through this Saturday, 4/29 at midnight CST. You can find the sale code in the Made for Mermaids Facebook Group or on the main Made for Mermaids Facebook page. Come join the fun and grab that discount!
